MELBOURNE : Effective 15 June 2013, Richard J. Owen has been appointed to the position of Chairman of the ExxonMobil Australia Group of Companies, based in Melbourne, Australia.

Mr. Owen joined the Esso Company in Australia as an engineer in Sale and Sydney in 1983. Throughout his 30 year career with ExxonMobil, Mr. Owen has held senior technical and executive positions with the company around the world including assignments in Melbourne, Houston, Alaska, Hannover and Jakarta.

A native of Australia, he holds a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Sydney and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Concurrently with Mr Owen’s appointment, ExxonMobil Australia’s current Chairman John R. Dashwood will become Vice President, Americas, ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Company, located in Houston, Texas.
