Melbourne, Australia – Mobil Oil Australia Pty Ltd (Mobil), a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Australia Pty Ltd (ExxonMobil Australia1), has signed a long-term agreement for the sale of Mobil branded fuels at 7-Eleven Australia2’s convenience stores.
The long-term deal will see the Mobil brand returning to Australian east coast metropolitan markets for the first time since the sale of ExxonMobil’s retail assets to 7-Eleven in 2010.
ExxonMobil Australia Chairman Richard Owen said that Mobil’s reputation for quality fuels is longstanding, built on more than a century of proven reliability and technological advancements.
“In addition, this important agreement returns the Mobil fuel brand to service stations across Australian east coast metropolitan markets and also highlights ExxonMobil’s commitment to downstream operations.
“ExxonMobil has been the exclusive supplier of fuel to 7-Eleven service stations since 2012 and the new strategic partnership provides a platform for future growth. 7-Eleven is the leading Australian convenience retailer and has also established a well recognised position in the retail fuels market in Australia over the last decade,” he said.
7-Eleven Australia’s CEO, Warren Wilmot, said the company was pleased to extend its relationship with ExxonMobil.
“7-Eleven has been selling quality Mobil fuels in our 400+ fuel sites for some time. We are excited about the benefits this long term strategic partnership brings to our business, and most importantly to our customers.
“As Australia’s first choice in convenience, we are always focused on providing customers with a market leading offer. Being able to communicate we sell quality Mobil fuel products, will ensure we can provide an outstanding offer to our customers,” Mr. Wilmot said.
The rollout of Mobil branding across 7-Eleven stores will take place throughout 2014.
