Results of the Mobil Synthetic Oil roll-out at MG Kailis

RESULTS OF PROGRAM

MG Kailis Group is very proud to announce that with the utilisation of Mobil synthetic oils in their engines and gearboxes, they have gained many benefits that include:

  • Significant reduction in oil consumption

  • A decline in the need to dispose of used oil

  • Conserving fuel and energy

  • A reduction in the stock of oil, both new and old, required on site

As a result of the above reductions, they have also:

  • Extended oil, engine and equipment life.

  • Achieved better lubrication of machinery

  • Reduced maintenance costs and downtime

  • Decreased oil disposal cost

  • Gained a 3% fuel economy savings due to less friction

The development of synthetic oils has lead the MG Kailis Group to not only use synthetic oils in their diesel engines and marine transmissions but also to use synthetic refrigeration oil and, more recently, synthetic grease. The synthetic grease has made a positive impact on the environment because it has a resistance to wash out and therefore when used on a propeller shaft and bearings under the water, the volume of grease that is ultimately mixed in with the ocean is reduced by 75%.

As mentioned, they have significantly reduced their oil usage, storage and disposal and hope that the commitment to finding a safer and more environmentally friendly system of oil disposal influences other marine operators to do the same and diminish the problems relating to oil pollution in the worlds oceans.
